Well, Howdie!!! Are you getting' ready? I hope so! Your theme song is Willie's:

"On the Road Again,
I just can't wait to get on the road again,
The life I love is making music with my friends,
I can't wait to get on the road again.

On the road again,
going places that I've never been,
seeing things I may never see again,
I can't wait to get on the road again!"

by Willie Nelson & Friends

Have you made your reservations yet for Nashville? Most of you have now had a personal invitation by none other than "Billy-Bob Nelson" (right) at your Mid-Winter to join fellow Capital District Kiwanians at the Kiwanis International Convention in "NASHVILLE Music City USA"!

"There's just a bunch of fun things to do and see", says Billy-Bob. AND, we have an announcement: Your District Board has approved a Capital District Official Dinner at the famous Wildhorse Saloon! That will be Thursday night, June 25th, the night reserved by KI for Districts to have our dinners. The cost will be $50 each for a Nashville BBQ dinner and entertainment. We can kick it up even more later at "Stampede Night at the Wildhorse"! It will be by tickets sold through Ellis Stroup, District Secretary-Treasurer very soon. You get it on your calendar and we'll tell you when tickets will be ready. Stay alert!

IMPORTANT NOTE: Our dinner reservation is Thursday at the Wildhorse Saloon and we'll have an area just for Capital District. Don't confuse it with the KI's Saturday night at the same place, but for KI it's a $75 price. Such a deal we got! Careful to sign up for the Capital District dinner with Ellis! Yup!

More about the Wildhorse Saloon dinner.

It's that time of year again! Enjoy Nashville! It's full of FUN things to see and do! Be with your Capital District team and fellow delegates from our 179 Clubs. Meet new Kiwanis friends from around the world. Exchange ideas! Attend workshops and seminars. Be at the planned Kiwanis entertainment featuring the Grand Ole Opry and see Nashville's many city sites. Remember, it called "MUSIC CITY"!

It's time to make reservations to attend the 94th Kiwanis International Convention in "Music City", Nashville, Tennessee! It's the home of Country Music's Hall of Fame & Museum, our Kiwanis Friday Night at the Grand Ole Opry ($40 ticket - sign up early, don't miss it), great BBQs, and line dancing just to name a few. Music abounds from country, jazz, blues, classical to rock 'n' roll. And don't forget to take a side trip to Graceland, home of Elvis, in Memphis before or after the convention. Make it a grand vacation!

A great convention program for clubs has been planned including sessions on membership retention, growth and leadership. There will be exhibits to give you new ideas for service, the Kiwanis Store and a Key Leader for Adults session. Meet new friends and reconnect with 'old' ones.

Jerry Peuler (far right) has been a runnin' with 'Billy-Bob Nelson' & Miss Nancy!

Do Kiwanis' business by attending the delegate session and voting for Past-Governor Jerry Peuler, who is running for International Trustee. Four candidates are running for the three vacant positions on the Kiwanis International Board and Jerry needs full support from the Capital District to get elected. Every club must have two (2) delegates at caucus and voting at the Business Session. Suggested delegates are the current President and President Elect. Remember: A Past-Lieutenant Governor from your Division can be a delegate for your club if necessary. Let's have a full turn out!!

The beautiful Loews Vanderbilt Hotel has been designated as the official hotel for the Capital District.

Registration forms for the Convention and Events, plus the Hotel accommodation forms are now available. Go to www.kiwanis.org then click on "Convention 2009 Nashville" for all forms, the schedule, convention highlights and places to visit. Check out the website for complete information and "sign up early". Don't miss out - register now!!

See ya'll in Nashville! Nancy Cressy, District Chair, On To Nashville
