Capitol Hill Club Guests of SHMS Builders Club

On April 28th 2011 the library at the Stuart Hobson Middle School in Washington DC was filled with excitement and enthusiasm. Members of the Kiwanis Club of Capitol Hill were guests of the SHMS Builders Club for their regular monthly general meeting. Builders Club President Ryan Jones conducted the meeting in a professional and competent manner, calling upon other members of the Builders Club to "lead us in the pledge of allegiance", "to call for announcements", " introduce the speaker." Each one of the students was well prepared and spoke in a confident and strong manner, belying their true nervousness about being responsible for the flow and tenor of the meeting. Our speaker was Gale Nemec, who is the producer of a children's multimedia program based upon aspects of American History. Gale was energetic and had no problem encouraging all (adults and children) to participate in learning the theme song of her presentation.
