Grafton Kiwanis Club

by Robert Elsass

(Above) Robert J. Donze, Jr., president of the Grafton High School Key Club in Yorktown, Virginia, is the Salutatorian of Grafton High School’s Class of 2010. Donze will be attending the College of William and Mary in Virginia on a baseball scholarship and plans to study business and economics. An active leader during his high school experience, he was selected as the Grafton Kiwanis Club’s Teenager of the Year in 2009. (Photo courtesy of York County School Division)

(Above) For Master Gardner Mary Boxer, having a live plant reach out to her was a bit unnerving. Mary and fellow Grafton Kiwanis Club members were participating in a fund raising event at Norfolk’s Harborfest 2010 when a 9-foot vine suddenly began hugging her. Actually it was DiVine, a performer from Living World Entertainment, who was on-hand to add to the festive atmosphere. The Grafton Club earned an estimated $1,800 to support local service programs.
