Capital Hill Club YCPO Project: PreSchoolers Trike for Funds for St. Jude's Cancer Research

Once again, as they have for 18 years, the preschoolers at the Peabody Early Childhood Center, have ridden their trikes, bikes, scotters, skates, and anything else on wheels to raise money for the St. Jude's Hospital for Children. This YCPO project of the Kiwanis Club of Capital Hill has raised almost $30,000 in these years. This year, the total is inching close to $5,000.

Peabody School is a DCPS early childhood center that is a YCPO focus for not only the trike a thon, but also for environmental action, through the creation of a magnificent urban garden. The School is part of the Capitol Hill Cluster School, thus inviting the participation of Builders Clubbers and other students from the Stuart Hobson Middle School (the middle school component of the cluster) to help in the trike-a-thon. The students work very hard to arrange the bikes, protect the children during the time of riding, encourage those who need an extra support system and just in general "help out".
