Wanted: Delegates For K.I. in Nashville

By Nancy Cressy, On-To-Nashville Chair, June 25-28th, 2009

Well, it's getting to be 'last call' for the 2009 Kiwanis International Convention in Nashville, Tennessee. There has been an excellent response and sign up for this convention and an important one it is indeed! There has been a very good response to the Billy Bob Nelson and Miss Nancy's "On The Road Again" tour of the Mid-Winter Conferences.

We've got some big responsibilities to step up too. First, we need to give Jerry Peuler our votes and help at the convention in our Capital District quest to elect him as an International Trustee. It has been a long time since our District has had direct representation on the KI Board. While we are well over 80% of our quota, we still have a need and room for more delegates and attendees. It's not too late for YOU!

Of course the business of Kiwanis is important, just as it is at our clubs, divisions and district, but the best part of the Nashville convention is having fun, Fun, FUN! From the music of the Grand Ole' Opry and the Country Hall of Fame, to the sights of Nashville including the General Jackson Showboat, the Parthenon, historic homes of three U.S. Presidents, the Nashville battlefield, to the great food and BBQs, you'll have a great time in nearby Nashville.

Capital District Dinner is Thursday at the Wildhorse Saloon! Some Tickets Available!

One of the highlights of the convention is that Kiwanis International has set aside time on Thursday night, June 25th, for District Dinners. The Capital District has booked none other than the WILDHORSE SALOON for a BBQ with a some great music and a little dancing, too!

GET YOUR TICKETS NOW by sending a check for $50 each (good bargain) to Secretary-Treasurer Ellis Stroup ASAP so you can get your tickets BEFORE you leave for the convention. By the way, it's always best to spend a little extra time at a convention city to see the sights. Most people will be arriving on Wednesday the 24th of June and some will stay a little longer as well.

Billy Bob Nelson and Miss Nancy are looking forward to being with YOU, ya'all !
