Richmond Kiwanis Helps to "Strike
Out Cancer"

On Saturday, January 17,
2009, the Kiwanis Club of West Richmond held the Second
Annual "Strike Out Cancer Bowling Tournament" and "Celebrate Children Silent Auction" at the Bowl America Short Pump in Glen Allen, VA. A record number of 103 people
participated in the bowling tournament and approximately
50 donated items were auctioned off. The West Richmond
Club may be small but with the dedication of its members
and months of planning and advertisement, their hard
work proved to be beneficial with a fundraising total
of $1,774 for the American Cancer Society and $800
for the West Richmond Club's projects. There were no
minimum or maximum age requirements for the event and
even included a team of four young bowlers aged 2 -
11 (pictured). We thank everyone who donated and participated,
and we encourage more Kiwanians to join us next year
for the Third Annual "Strike Out Cancer Bowling Tournament"! Bowling members are also pictured.
