Kiwanis Supports Priority One With Donation
This week Kiwanis made a semi annual donation of $600 to Worcester County Gold's Young Children's program "Priority One". The mission of Kiwanis is "Serving the Children of the World" and Priority One is a perfect fit as it focuses on the needs of children from pre-natal to age 4.

Kiwanis Club Gets the News
Every week the Kiwanis Club of Greater Ocean Pines-Ocean City meets and every week Programs and Speakers Chairman Graham "Jack" Caldwell comes up with a new speaker to address the membership. On January 12th the club got good news when Editor Jim Fisher of the Ocean Pines Independent and Worcester County Times was introduced as the speaker. Pictured (L to R) are Jim Fisher speaking while Kiwanis Club President Roy Foreman and Graham Caldwell listen in the background.
Mr. Fisher shared how he got started as a reporter because he enjoyed the unpredictability, excitement and sharing of opinions that are a part of newspaper journalism. The Kiwanis Club also expressed its appreciation to Jim for the help his papers provide in publishing the events and happenings of the local club which is the main way of communicating with the community and obtaining their support. One of the club's honorary members, Anna Foultz, writes a column for the weekly Ocean Pines Independent. Anna is currently rehabilitating from her recent surgery so her column will not appear in the paper until she is back at her desk. She also often talks about Kiwanis events in her column. How lucky Kiwanis and the community are to have the local newspapers to allow everyone to be informed.
