by Gov. Jeffrey Wolff

I am honored to be serving as your District Governor for the next twelve months because I have the pleasure to serve with a team of highly dedicated volunteers who have stepped up to ensure that each of your clubs is the best that it can be. The 2011-2012 Leadership Team is comprised of your District Board of Trustees, the entire class of 21 Lt. Governors and all of our District Committee Chairpersons. They are equipped with a vastly diverse skill set and come from 45 different Kiwanis clubs throughout our great district...more

Suburban Frederick Club Scans Old Newsletters to the Internet

Capital District Historian John Fox stated, "Club newsletters are an important record to keep. Making them available to all is a great accomplishment. There is information stored in these pages that can be gathered for future club celebrations. If it were not for the recorded history of the Capital District, there would not have been a District History website. The Kiwanis Club of Suburban Frederick has done a wonderful job at listing its Club and District officers, as well as documenting highlights from throughout the years. I found some great District History in the club's early newsletters. Thank you, Suburban Frederick, for that!"..more

CKI Club at UVA Raises Money for Special Projects. The weather was cloudy, overcast and threatening rain, but more than a dozen bright and sunny members of the Circle K International Club (CKI) at the University of Virginia turned out on Saturday, September 24, to scrub and buff a veritable fleet of late model vehicles at the All American Car Wash on Long Street near Pantops Mountain in Charlottesville. Money raised went to support the numerous charitable activities engaged in by the college-age members of the K-Family, including projects to help UVA's Children's Hospital and the Boys & Girls Club of Charlottesville/Albemarle. Pictured are CKI members showing that service work can provide vigorous exercise as well as hours of good, clean fun.

The “Unsung Heroes” Awards: A Novel Idea for Recognizing
Kiwanis Leadership

The end of a Kiwanis Administrative Year brings, and should bring, recognition of jobs well done as well as a welcome to new leadership. We offer our full support of the 2011-2012 Kiwanis Leadership Team. Division 17’s Lieutenant Governor Joyce Sharon had a novel idea and coordinated that well with her club presidents. She asked them to review their year and select a club member for the “Unsung Hero’s Award” to be given to a Kiwanian who demonstrated outstanding leadership and consistent service to their clubs...more
