West Richmond Kiwanis Helps to "Strike Out Cancer"

On Saturday, January 9, 2010, the Kiwanis Club of West Richmond held the Third Annual "Strike Out Cancer Bowling Tournament" and "Celebrate Children Silent Auction" at the Bowl America Short Pump in Glen Allen, VA. Even in a down economy, the Club proved that kindness will prevail with 70 people participating in the bowling tournament and 29 donated items were auctioned off. The dedication of the West Richmond Club's members and months of planning and advertisements proved to be beneficial with a fundraising total of $1,390 for the American Cancer Society and $701 for the West Richmond Club's scholarship and community projects. Everyone was invited to participate from toddlers to seniors. We thank everyone who donated and participated, and we encourage more Kiwanians to join us next year for the Fourth Annual "Strike Out Cancer Bowling Tournament"!
