Lynchburg Clubs Celebrates 89th Birthday

The Kiwanis Club of Lynchburg celebrated its 89th birthday with over forty members and guests present to sing Happy Birthday and enjoy a birthday cake. The Club was officially organized on January 14, 1920, and the charter was presented to twenty-eight charter members on January 29th.

The Club also recognized and honored with a certificate and pin twenty-two members of the Legion of Honor. The Legion of Honor consists of those who have been members twenty-five years or more. Fourteen of the twenty-two were present to receive awards from Lieutenant Governor John Montgomery and District Trustee David Heppner. The fourteen present represented 558 years in Kiwanis, and the eight not present represented 254 years for a total of 812 years of service in Kiwanis.
