Club Celebrates Lee-Jackson Day

The
Staunton Kiwanis Club recently celebrated
their 87th Lee-Jackson Day with a program
about the 19th century figure, John Brown
Baldwin. More than 100 Kiwanians, including
interclubs and special guests heard John
Hildebrand talk about this important local
figure in Virginia politics and education.
Following his presentation, Hildebrand signed
copies of his new book, The Life and Times
of John Brown Baldwin, 1820-1873: A Chronicle
of Virginia's Struggle with Slavery, Civil
War, and Reconstruction. Pictured left to
