Dulles Areas Club Active

DAK/Holiday Coalition Coat Drive

The Dulles Area Kiwanis Club, in cooperation with the Loudoun County Community Holiday Coalition, collected coats, which were distributed to families in need in October. Since 1996, the Community Holiday Coalition has helped thousands of Loudoun County families have a wonderful holiday season. This year the Dulles Area Kiwanis was pleased to provide support for this effort by coordinating the community coat drive.  DAK collected 450 coats during the coat drive.  The distribution of coats was held over the first two weekends in October and all but 75 coats were distributed to people in need.  Coats left over from the coat drive were donated to LINK, a Dulles area organization that also helps families in need in the Dulles area, for their November coat drive.   During the first weekend of distribution, members of the Potomac Falls HS Key Club came to the distribution site for a service project to decorate foam pumpkins for the residents at the Monroe House Assisted Living Community.

Hillsides K-Kids join Dulles Area Kiwanis to play Bingo

One October 17, 18 members of the Hillsides K-Kids club joined members of the Dulles Area Kiwanis Club to help them with their monthly bingo game at the Monroe House Assisted Living Community in Sterling, VA.

Potomac Falls HS Key Club holds Trunk or Treat

On October 31, the Potomac Falls HS Key Club held their first Trunk or Treat event for the surrounding community.  At this event, children from the surrounding community could trick or treat at the 15 different decorated car trunks, as well as play games.  The Key Club sponsored this event and had members of Potomac Falls High School volunteer to decorate their car's trunk, dress up in costume and pass out candy to the trick or treaters.
