Montgomery Village Club Sponsors Aktion Club

by Jim Pettit

Members of the organization, known as the Aktion Club, are individuals supported by Community Services for Autistic Adults and Children, or CSAAC.

In just its first year, the Aktion Club has participated in a variety of activities including Relay for Life, Autism on the Mall, Miracle League and fundraising drives.

The Aktion Club's Charter Night on January 13 officially recognized the group's one-year anniversary. CSAAC is a private, non-profit agency which provides direct services to children and adults with autism.

"We are pleased to help advance the agenda of CSACC, Aktion Club and others who are on the front lines of improving living conditions and social interaction among people with autism," said Montgomery Village Kiwanis Club President Dave Benway.
The Montgomery Village Kiwanis Club presented Aktion Club members with a large horizontal banner with Kiwanis club logos for use in upcoming local events.

"In this past year, the Aktion Club members truly enjoyed working on their community projects, and learned leadership skills in the process," said Ayda Sanver, CSAAC's Director of Community Development.
