RELEVANCE: Midyear Events and Regional Conferences

Midyear events are critical for keeping the members with leadership roles up to date and motivated. They are also extremely valuable for fostering future leadership and especially for new members that are learning about what a great organization they've just joined!
Brainstorm with your District this year to add some punch, fun, enthusiasm and then add some more FUN to motivate members to attend your events this year? Here are some ideas on HOW...

PUNCH! NEW programs with NEW Speakers with exciting names.
FUN! FUN! And more FUN! Open forums for everyone to participate (instead of breakout sessions)
o   Games that relate to
     growth and membership
     retention
o   Outstanding Service
     Projects where everyone
     can participate
o   Music and Entertainment (local bands,
     comedians, performers)
o   Show fun and inspiring videos
o   Gifts, prizes, awards, trips, cars,
     cruises, diamonds, (go ahead! get
     carried away!)

ENTHUSIASM! Add a theme to your event or conference - set the tone with...
o   Smile and the World Smiles with
     YOU!
     - Get a sponsor (WalMart) to donate
        happy face stickers/balls/candy, etc.
o   Life is Like a Box of Chocolates -
ya never know whatcha gonna get?
     - Get a sponsor to donate chocolate
        candy, fountains, etc.
o   Kiwanis is a seven letter word that
     spells FUN!
     - Get a sponsor to donate kazoos, party
        hats, cake, candy.
     - Get a sponsor to pay for a comedian,
juggler, clown, face painter, etc. (YES,
we aren't too old to have fun!) If you want
ideas and assistance in making this
year the year to grow, contact your Area
