2009 KC DCON Division 14 Highlights

I just got back from the 2009 KC DCON in Richmond, VA last weekend. There were in the neighborhood of 750 KCers who attended the Convention from the Capital District. From KC Div. 14 four clubs attended the District Convention.

Div. 14 KC LTG 2008-2009 Rebecca Severino (Arundel KC) was discharged and Kaitlin Hernandez (Meade KC) was installed at the Div. 14 LTG for 2009-2010.

Meade KC received a Distinguished Club Award, First Place Single Award (this will go on to be reviewed at the International Level), and Gold Membership Development Award (membership increase). The Club raised a great deal of money for the Governor's Project, District Project as well as UNICEF.

Christina Yoo received a Distinguished Club President Award and Ariel Marbel received Honorable Mention in the Oratorical contest.

Meade Key Club Faculty advisor is Ms. Bobbi Coffman and is sponsored by the Odenton Kiwanis Club.

Dan Scholfield (Crofton Kiwanis) was recognized at the Outstanding Kiwanis Advisor (Arundel KC) at the Convention.
